Construction of a new golf course and additional condominium units by the Shanty Creek Resort in Bellaire, Antrim County, Michigan, has raised the concern of area residents regarding possible negative effects on the area streams and Lake Bellaire. This survey of five streams flowing from the Shanty Creek resort provides some generalized environmental information prior to most land clearing and construction activities, although the limited duration of the study (one month) is insufficient to characterize the annual changes within the streams.
