Abstract
Due to, the metal working business activities and the presence of hazardous materials at this site, there has been cause to suspect environmental damages. Previous investigations, primarily by the Michigan DNR, have indicated minimal impact on the lake and its life. With respect to water quality of the lake, this maybe true. Yet the repeatedly confirmed presence of heavy metals in lake bottom sediments renews our concerns regarding ground water quality and lake life. The purpose of this investigation was to confirm earlier DNR heavy metal findings, summarize site history and recommend further study to answer unresolved questions.
